Intelligence is the key to truly being free.
She was not a good to behold kind of a person. Short, stunted muscular like an ardent athlete. A very outgoing person with a highly penetrative and charming personality. Seldom has she arrived at any place that all will take notice of her. She went from person to person, initiating and sustaining conversations. Her knowledge of issues was deep. From sports to sciences, entertainment to politics, you name it. At her young age in high school, she was an information hub of latest happenings on issues at school, yet was not the type who would meddle into the affairs of others nor gossip on any one.
Not just that she had strong interpersonal skills, she also got brains. John had often been first in his class until she joined the class. The second term came and she pushed John to the second position. Her first position reverberated through the other arms of her class. Her chemistry teacher took special interest in her and began to give her extra attention, as he would always do to any of his good students.
Janette (not her real name) was good at time management like an expert professional. She knew when to play just as she knew when to be in class and employed her free periods from class at the library, attending to her assignments. She always reviewed her notes and jottings before her bed time.
It was a common practice for students to copy from others in her class/school. She detested the thought of it with a passion. She would usually deride those involved in such, asking “where has my head gone that I should borrow from other heads to put on my paper”? She shared ideas with her mates but would often withdraw to her study room and do her assignments alone.
Eventually came the final exams, and since she was always prepared, she did well and earned her high school diploma in flying colors. Her slogan was, every school day is like the final day. Approach it with all the seriousness and eventually the graduating exams will be easy. This, she lived and proved in her daily life.
She earned a scholarship to study for a masters degree at University of Edinborough, after a narrow miss at first class in her first degree. Thereafter she did a course in Australia. Currently, she is studying for a doctorate degree, in her desired and highly cherished field of geology in the United states. Although she came from a very humble background in that interior village in the North central region of Nigeria, she saw herself a global figure and is fast soaring high, overbearing like the cedars of Lebanon. Janette is not just an envy of her peers, she is a model and motivation to the younger ones, and an icon of what determination and perseverance can do. She didn’t have a “magnetic brain”, but she developed one. Surely, you can, if you put all your energies at work to achieve that desired feat. Janette has done it; you can too.
At the age of six
It all made sense; one plus one equals two
It was all part of a daily routine calculated and on cue
Intelligence wasn’t a big part of who we were back then
I don’t even remember being able write much less even use a pen
At the age of eleven
During this time being smart still wasn’t much of a worry
Degrees, Master and PhDs, hence we still were quite free
To talk about what we wanted for Christmas ; what glee that must be
To go to Toys R Us and get an American doll, instead of doing Algebra
To have so much energy; how I wish I
had such stamina
At the age of 13
Puberty has hit, being number one was everyone’s worry
To be the best looking or the smartest I wouldn’t consider us quite free
Society changing us to be what they believe to be deemed the prettiest
When really what we should be worrying about is who’s the busiest
Doing their homework or studying , that should really be your concern
At the age of 16
Now things get complicated; the looks, the price, and the brand
It’s all so much to quite frankly and deeply understand
How is it that Grade 11’s are so foculized on such stupidity
To want so much in return and most importantly publicity
To be known and seen rather than seen in your books
However it doesn’t matter because the only thing that matters isn’t looks
At the age 18
Your off it’s a new start, a new beginning, a new life
Masters, Degrees, and PhDs are a new beginning just not with your wife.
You’ve got your head in the game ready University or college
The workload will all fall into place just like all your knowledge
That is if you were studying instead of partying
If you exercise instead of overeating
All that intelligence doesn’t just mean being smart
It means knowing when the time’s right to have fun and the time’s right to part
It all plays in that 12 worded noun that will now be engraved as
INTELLIGENCE
Question #1. What is a mistake you made and what did you learn from it?
Answer: Once when I was attending Wayne State University, I went to a class that I did not know had been canceled. I waited for over 30 minutes and eventually someone came and informed me that class was cancelled and there was even an email sent out stating so. I learned to always check my emails more often and to make sure that things are still going as planned, and not to make assumptions.
Question #2. Where did you think you would be at this age when you were younger?
Answer: At a young age, I hoped I would be traveling from place to place, evangelizing and preaching the word. But there is still time to hope.
Question #3. What advice would you give to someone dealing with a bully?
Answer: My advice would be not to react and sink down to their level. Keep yourself in a respectable position keep your heart calm in the eye of the Lord. Do not repay evil with evil.

Intelligence is another word for Smart. Proverbs 1:7 say’s the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Which means that the moment you realize that God is the almighty, that God is real, just then would you be wise with more wisdom and knowledge.
An intelligent person goes in search of knowledge and wisdom, does not stop at just one spot but instead keeps moving, working towards greater heights. An intelligent person is a well rounded person who is active in different sports, helps in community service, volunteers their time to help people, keeps up with their work academically and is a person of good character. An Omoluabi use their intelligence for good and to help the less fortunate.
Intelligence can be described as “the ability to perceive or infer information, and to retain it as knowledge to be applied towards adaptive behaviors within an environment or context.”
Me waking up and knowing what to do is intelligence
Me knowing when, how and what to study is intelligence
Me helping others is intelligence
Me working hard to earn good grades is intelligence
Me acting on right instructions is intelligence
Me ruling out wrong advice is intelligence
Me asking for directions is intelligence
Me using my discretion to make things work is intelligence
Me seeking more wisdom is intelligence
I have chosen to be intelligent,
I have chosen to work on the right part,
I’ve chosen to be Omoluabi
Who is the most intelligent person in the world? One day, I heard my friend say she had met the most intelligent person in the person. Then I asked what made the person so intelligent. This friend of mine told me that her
acquittance had the best grades in every subject. This left me wondering if intelligence can be based on grades. Whilst talking about intelligence, how can we actually define it? How can we measure it? In our society today, many people believe than having high grades is the same as being
intelligent. Is this accurate? Before giving any opinion on this question, let me say that the first definition of intelligence in the Oxford dictionary is “the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills.” This definition mentions knowledge, which is evaluated during assessments. Most school tests assess knowledge but not the capacity to apply the knowledge. To illustrate my point let me ask you another simple question. Can we say that a child that can add 1+1 but cannot do one apple + one apple is intelligent? Don’t get me wrong, that young person is not dumb but he or she has to
learn the real-life applications of knowledge to be complete. Another way to express my thought is by saying that good grades are useless if the knowledge used to get them is not applicable out of school. Another way the society evaluates intelligence is with the IQ test. This evaluation might
be accurate to some people, but the results cannot be relevant. Why? This is because sometimes it measures the capacities of a fish to climb trees and that of a monkey on how it swims. How can we state that one is “dumb” if we cannot see how he or she acts in their habitat? I have been stating the wrong ways of measuring intelligence, but is there a right way? Personally, I believe that the best definition is given by late scientist Stephen Hawkins. He says that “intelligence is the ability to adapt to change.” The world today is all about evolution and progress. If we are not able to follow the movement, we become nothing. Intelligence is using our brains so as to make the society better. Yes, we need the knowledge, yes, we prefer being in our natural habitat, but if we are not able to change systems and still see how things are related to each other, we cannot evolve. To sum up, intelligence is wrongly defined in our society though it is important. If we keep this definition, it is better to say that being wise is important. Be intelligent, understand the world and understand that knowledge is power if you can apply it, then this world will be better since it will be harder to make irrational decision when using our brains. Now you can ask yourself who the most intelligent person in the world is according to you.
Everybody knows what intelligence is. Intelligence is the ability to understand and adapt to what you learn. Of all the faculties and abilities that a person can possess, intelligence is the one that people respect most. An intelligent person is more likely to be listened to by others, because this person has extensive knowledge of the subject of which they speak and can easily prove what they say. Intelligence is also of great importance because it opens many doors and opportunities in life. Employers place great importance on intelligence and always prefer to hire the person who has the most of it, because this person will be able to do the required work more efficiently. Therefore, intelligence is an asset that can make a big difference in life.
In addition, there are several types of intelligences: linguistic intelligence, logico-mathematical intelligence, kinesthetic corporal intelligence, spatial intelligence, interpersonal intelligence, musical intelligence, intra-personal intelligence, and naturalistic intelligence. If a person is not very academically competent, that does not mean that she is not intelligent. This person must simply explore to find out what are her strengths. A person who solves mathematical problems (logicomathematical intelligence) with ease can find himself in trouble when it comes to writing a dissertation (linguistic intelligence). Having said that, being smart in one field does not mean that you are necessarily good at it. That’s why we need to take advantage of our natural abilities and strive to work to expand our skills and knowledge in that area.
In conclusion, intelligence is not a faculty reserved for only certain people. You do not have to be the best or the first in what you do to be smart. On the contrary, intelligence is present in all of us, but it is our responsibility to discover how to shine that intelligence.
